As as the density of urban habitation continues to rise, I like to keep an eye on emerging technological solutions aimed at relieving commuter congestion and making the city a bit more streamlined. The company Sidewalk Labs recently released the cloud-based application Coord that gives users the integrated ability to identify, plan as well as pay for travel all in the same app. On the flipside, all of the geo-locational travel data of the app users are crowdsourced by travel services to better coordinate their resources around expected travel habits. It's all pretty experimental and a little controversial.
